Welcome, I’m Nicola also known as the girl with the green sofa- named after my green velvet sofa from MADE.com which helped launch my interiors hobby. I’m a colour loving maximalist, and I like to share my passion for colourful interiors either my own or other homes that have inspired me, throwing in interior design trends and how to use colour in your home. I decorate emotionally. My home has to be a haven to relax in and so I also spend time on this blog looking at how trends and colour help create a home to feel good in.

We are a family of 4. I am surrounded by boys which represents an interesting interior challenge-tidy we are not. Juggling a mountain of kids paraphernalia alongside a passion for interiors means there is a constant friction between what looks great from a design point of view with what works in a real family home. But we are real, we keep it real, and part of the fun of designing a kid friendly home is the kids get to join in too.
My interiors hobby and blog, are very much a sanity relief in a very full life. I work in high technology business (investor, entrepreneur, consultant, advisor) and so this creative side balances me allowing me to switch from one side of the brain to the other after a busy week at work. This is why I focus on telling the stories of creative businesses each with their own journey- to inspire you, to learn from. You can use this blog to find advice and guidance from those that have been on the journey you are about to embark on.
